This is a reading for a certain part of the collective of DMs, so it may or may not resonate with you. A lot of the reading came out in little pairs which I thought was kind of interesting because it has turned out to be a reading to do with twins in separation and those with karmic partners involved, so there is the pairing of divine masculine and karmic, but also the pairing of divine masculine and divine counterpart, and even the DM and his best life, throughout the reading.
The first two cards in this sequence flew out - the knight of wands and queen of wands - and they flew out sideways. Kind of halfway between reversed and upright, although in the case of the knight, closer to upright than reversed. Interestingly they both showed up in the pre-shuffle as well, so they really meant to come out today. In this position of ‘on the way to upright from reverse’, I feel like we are looking at where this particular masculine is in time. He’s been experiencing the delays and frustration and scattered thoughts, and is trying to right himself to become that fiery, energetic, sometimes impulsive, knight of wands. It feels like he is in his own head a lot, going back and forth over how to manoeuvre his way forward. If he can get himself out of the mire of frustrated, fragmented energy, of not using his energy in the correct way, and of being pulled back repeatedly by karmic energy, then he can achieve quite a lot. Once this knight does come up into the upright, he’ll be in the position of riding away from the queen of wands, which I also thought was very telling. He needs to clear his head and his energy enough to make a proper move forward – and a proper move forward that actually lasts. He also knows he needs to move carefully when moving away from the queen of wands.
The queen of wands likewise is sitting between reverse and upright, and I feel this card is representative of a karmic partner. The queen of wands came out completely sideways - halfway between reverse and upright. It’s interesting because we are looking at a dynamic and powerful, confident woman in the upright and somebody with an opposing shadow side in the reverse. I feel like today this card is representational of a karmic who is bold and powerful, but who is also in danger of being drawn down by her darker shadow side. I am really drawn to the black cat in this image and I know there are some karmics who dabble in things that they shouldn’t, and this feels like one of them. She is possibly veering between standing in her own power and using a power of a more damaging kind. She is also on her side looking away from that night of wands as he makes to move away from her, so this is a pairing that is splitting in different directions. I almost want to say that this queen of wands is on her way to reverse rather than on her way to upright, but everybody’s journey is different and I don’t like to place that sort of wish on anyone - that they would be on their way into the shadows instead of moving into the light. Still it will be up to this karmic, how they choose to move at the end of the day.
The king of swords and the high priestess were actually the first cards that came out but they needed to be in the middle of the series here - representing the next step. The king of swords has clarity, he has power, and he is strong but also a little self contained and detached. The high priestess likewise has her clarity and power, albeit of a slightly different type than the king of swords. She is also standing comfortably on her own and looking slightly detached. We are looking at two people, a DM and a DF, who have come much more into their own selves/power and who know themselves and their own capabilities, who know who they are. This is opening them both up to abundance but there is a wariness in both - that detachment and sense of self containment. Even though they are both so strong in themselves, it seems like the detachment extends even to their divine counterpart, and I feel like perhaps there is a sense that they are holding back from each other at the moment, whether that is out of stubbornness, fear, or a sense that they just need to keep working on themselves. Perhaps in some cases there is a need to prove that they are fine on their own and not too needy, and this is understandable. There is always a fine line between loving your counterpart and chasing them, and sometimes it can be scary to think that we might be overstepping the mark. It feels like the DM, for his part, is holding back through fear, but also from a need to finalise things - to finish his karmic situation and also to do more work on himself. He is pragmatic in his forward movement. He does not need or want to repeat the mistakes he made with the karmic. And to be truthful the DF does not want that either so it is worth them taking a little time to get this part of the journey right.
The next pairing that came out were the four of wands and the king of cups. Not a bad combination :) We’ve got a king who has warmed up and relaxed into himself, into his emotions and his ability to deal with his emotions, and also into his King energy. He is sitting looking at the celebration card ready to celebrate life and family and all the good things that he can see in his future and that he has now attained. This King has grown from being an impulsive knight, through achieving a sense of self and power but lacking emotional connection, and on to someone who stands in his own power but is also comfortable with feeling what he feels, living as he chooses to live, and loving as he chooses to love. And with that comfort and self acceptance, comes true celebration.
At the bottom of this first sequence, which is a circle in itself, the wheel of fortune is turning for this DM. His karmic cycles are once more up for closure and he is reaching the beginning of a new cycle. Provided he is able to gain the clarity that he needs to step into the king of swords energy, that clear thinking which allows him to channel his knight of wands energy in a productive way, he will be able to close out this current karmic cycle for good and move forward into the next phase of his journey, to become the king of cups. This DM is hearing his intuition and needs to now trust it, to trust the thoughts, to achieve the clarity, he needs to move forward. As you can see, harking back to the knight of wands and queen of wands, there is still a level of attachment - the corner of the queen of wands card is touching the side of the knight of wands but there is a feeling of being pulled apart, like a piece of paper being torn in two. Whether this cycle closes now or later will come down to the DM stepping fully into his power and channelling his frustrations into clear thought and action in order to make that final break. This is where the king of swords comes in and the time is optimal right now because the wheel is about to turn again.
Next to the wheel the 7 of earth reinforces us completely by showing a subject who is at a crossroads, with a decision to be made. They can choose to continue doing the same thing over and over again, or they can change the script. We see that the DM needs to understand they have the ability to create change in their own lives. I am really drawn to the sentence in the book that says “Whatever I choose to do, I am not afraid to start over”. This is a masculine who needs to find his courage to understand that the fears he feels are illusory and that if he simply releases those fears with love, then he will be able to move forward in strength to a better and brighter place.
For the outcome portion of this reading I switched to the Good Tarot Deck and again got two pairs of cards followed by that beautiful star card to finish. Wishes fulfilled.
In this particular deck the 5 of air talks about tension and conflict in terms of someone being open to the views of others, even when they differ with our own. This DM is a person who has become comfortable with different ways of thinking and who is happy enough in themselves to live and let live. They are peaceful and accepting of others, strong enough stand in their own truth even when others around them see differently from them. They can deal with differences and conflict in a peaceful manner. So many karmic relationships are drama-fuelled and sometimes escaping them is a matter of realising this and stepping out of the dramas at play. The relationship energy/dynamic then changes and they can’t hold you in the same way. The doves of peace are a sign of a more peaceful, mature way of living and also of a more peaceful and open attitude to others.
With this expansion in attitude in relation to conflict and the views of others, also comes a wider expansion - of opportunities and a bigger brighter life. This DM is on a an adventure, and this is an adventure with a successful outcome. The DM is somebody who, to quote the deck, “can make a good choices for myself and create situations and relationships that are in harmony with my heart’s desire”. Calm maturity and mindful manifestation.
The final card in this reading is the star - that wonderful outcome of wish fulfilment. So even though it may seem right now like this is a DM who doesn’t quite know which way to go, who is struggling under emotional upheaval and frustrated energy and who is still slightly pinned by that karmic situation, we can see from the outcome that he is also someone who is learning to deal with conflict in a mature way, to face his fears and who is becoming ready to strike out on his own in a new and fulfilling way. The DM is becoming ready to find his opportunities, to create the best things in life, and is able to achieve the wishes of a better life for himself. This is a reminder to trust your DM, especially if you are in separation. They have the tools, they have the soul map, they have the desire, they have the practical abilities. They will get there. With the star card they see hope - the hope that pulls them forward and helps them to create and usher in beautiful new beginnings. It is worth mentioning also that the star card can often correlate with the DF, so in this sense, the DF has (like the DM) moved on from the detachment that we saw in the high priestess, although she has kept the wisdom and sense of self that she gained there. With this move she has settled into a more emotionally open state shown by that lovely warm, watery star card. In this way once more she mirrors the DM’s journey and creates a pairing with her king of cups.
